I’ve been making some serious wardrobe changes over the past few months; largely owing to swapping coasts and needing more appropriate clothing, but also because I no longer have a large wardrobe to store everything in. In a lot of ways it has been freeing – I downsized my closet right before moving, donating and selling anything I didn’t need. And then once we arrived into the new house and I figured out exactly what size closet I would be using, I was able to downsize even further.
I’m a firm believer in crafting a wardrobe that you actually are excited to play with, and while I know I am endlessly lucky to be able to do this in partnership with on of my favorite shops in the world (MyTheresa, who kindly gifted a couple of the pieces featured) I still wanted to share some of my “fewer but better” picks that I have added to replace the pieces that went out. For instance, I had about 6 pairs of black trousers before – but no single pair that really and truly fit well and felt of good quality. I swapped that pile for one really perfect pair and I never looked back. Ditto to the box of sunglasses I had – 6 pairs and most of them were in bad shape or just didn’t look good. So out they went to be replaced by one pair that I truly truly am excited to put on.
So let’s dive in; and as a note, apologies for linking pieces twice! I’ve had some people say only one type of link works for them, and vice-a-versa, so I’m including two options for most styles just to be thorough.
Totême Mid-rise Cotton-Blend Pants
I have been trying to find the perfect trousers for years, and while I’ve gotten close, I never really could find exactly what it was I was looking for until now. These are made from a really sturdy cotton that holds it’s shape (not too flowy) and the leg has an almost barrel shape to it that is so so SO flattering. I really like them paired with flats and loafers, but I think a strappy heel in the right weather will be perfect in the spring. As a note, they are labeled as being Mid-rise, but as you can see on me they are a true high rise. I’m wearing a size 34 (US4) for reference, and my usual denim size is 24/25. Additional Options :
Orion Leggings
I have been singing the praises of this workout brand (LiveTheProcess) for over two years now. They make some of the most beautiful workout wear that is truly durable. I wore a pair of their leggings almost every single day while filming (under my wardrobe) and they held up under some of the most strenuous stunts and shoot days. I added this newer cross-over waistband style to replace some flimsier brands I had accumulated, and I love them. The ‘corset sports bra’ here is the same one I’ve had for two years and it still looks brand new (also linked here). I’m wearing both in a size small; You can shop this style by clicking this link and if you are having issues with that link, try this one.

Celine Oval Triomphe Sunglasses
I’ve been dreaming of owning a Celine Triomphe purse for a few years, and while I can’t quite get myself to splurge on one, I do still have such a love for that classic logo and just about everything that Celine puts out. In the past I’ve had some cat-eye shaped sunglasses and round pairs that I liked the look of – just not on my face. Switching to this beautiful oval shape has made all the difference, as I feel it actually flatters my face shape and eyebrows without overwhelming either. Additional Options :
Totême High-Rise Jeans
Jeans can be hard to find in a truly straight cut that doesn’t feel too boxy. And while these ones are not the above-the-navel- pinch-in-your-waist style I so often reach for, they are something I was missing from my wardrobe. They are more of a relaxed fit with a truly incredible weight to the fabric. It’s clear that they are a high quality rigid denim in a more universally flattering straight leg that crops right above the ankles. I’m wearing a size 25 in this style. Totême Wool & Cashmere Turtleneck
I swear I did not PLAN on this becoming a Totême fan page, but I’ve just adored this brand for making elevated tailored clothing for so long, and to finally have my hands on some of their coveted pieces is thrilling. They just seem to nail the fit of everything in a deceptively simple fashion, and this beautiful turtleneck is no exception. I could feel the quality of it the moment it arrived, it has a curved hem that is endlessly flattering, and it is a truly warm piece that feels tailored and not bulky. I opted for a size small, but could have maybe done the XS. You can shop this style by clicking this link and if you are having issues with that link, try this one.
