Between filming and moving and just generally staying at home, there hasn’t been a lot of reasons to put on a full makeup look. And while I still don’t feel like a professional (and am definitely out of practice) it is something I like to do from time to time. Last weekend we attended a friend’s wedding reception in the city, and I packed along a few of the items I add to my makeup bag when I’m wanting to go just a touch more glam. Am I an expert? Absolutely not. But I do still love to play around with makeup from time to time.
- Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk Lip Cheat : Chances are you’ve heard of this lip liner as being the holy grail must-have for ages. It’s definitely no secret, but I am here to be yet another voice telling you “It’s like really good.” When I’m going for more of a done-up look, I line my lips just between my cupids bow to give them a more round look – a slight over-lining that rounds out what is normally the arch of the lips. Then I do the same thing just under my bottom lip – but only at the center. I find that it gives me a more dramatic pout and lasts for AGES.
- Charlotte Tilbury Flawless Filter (shade 2) : Alright this is another CT product everyone talks about but I am new to it and already in love. I use this under my eyes and around the edges of my mouth to just give a more flawless glowing look. I use it as more of a concealer, but I have seen it used all over the face for an even more “done” look. It’s glowy without being heavy.
- Sisley Paris Phyto Rouge Shine in Sheer Cherry : I tend to favor a more sheer lip color when going out, and one I can continually reapply. This sheer cherry shade is amazing – I give a light swipe and then use my ring finger to pat and buff it in for a flushed lip look that doesn’t smudge. It works nicely with my lip liner.
- Anastasia Brow Wax : I bought this little container over the Summer and am still using it almost daily. IT IS AMAZING. I even had it added to the makeup kit used daily on set while filming last Fall because I’ve never found a product that works quite so well without looking too shiny or stiff. It gives my brows the right amount of hold to look full and stand up – but without looking like they’re pasted to my skin. I use it in combination with my forever-favorite Gucci Brow Pencil to soften my naturally very arched eyebrows, and to give more of a straight shape.
- Chantecaille HD Perfecting Loose Powder : I am not the type to powder my whole face – but if I’m going out it’s always a good idea to do a little swipe and to keep it along in your bag. I love this formula from Chantecaille because it is so airy and light – and the built in brush makes it easy to pack along and reapply if needed. A little swipe under my eyes and around my nose is my usual method.
- Chanel Fresh Water Tint : Although this is labeled as being more of a light coverage makeup, I personally love it for a night out look. It goes on feeling like water (the name is accurate) but it gives the most beautiful ‘lit from within’ finish. A few pumps of this buffed onto my face always leaves me feeling fresh and dewy without a heavy ‘makeup’ look.
- Guide Beauty Eyeliner Duo : Ok this is probably the only thing from my look that really feels like a departure from my usual – and that’s because I hardly ever wear eyeliner. The reason? I’m TERRIBLE at it. Always have been. This little tool though has made it so easy for someone like me to give just a liiiittle baby wing and a more finished eye look. I’m still getting the hang of it but wow – so much easier than a pencil or a pen!

Love this look on you! Im looking forward to seeing a more glamorized wing liner from you
The Chanel water tint is divine ✨ I really love that one too! I find I like to apply it in areas that require less coverage and then I go in with my tinted moisturizer that has SPF.. honestly if it has SPF I’d do away with the other product
