Yesterday was one of those ever-so-rare in California rainy days. I love the rain, and since I don’t get to see it very often, it’s always a treat for me. It gave me an excuse to dig out my rainboots (I know, unnecessary purchase), my vintage umbrella, and my trench coat. Normally when it’s stormy out I like to sit inside cuddled up with a book and listen to the sound of the drops hitting the roof, but as it’s such a busy time of year I had no such luck. I had to go to a half-dozen places to run errands, so my rainboots got more use than jut jumping in puddles in my driveway.
I especially had a lot of errands to run, because earlier this week my dad was in a bike accident. He shattered his femur, has had surgery to place a rod in, and has been recovering in the hospital ever since. With him being immobile it means my whole family has a lot more to do to help out – getting the right medical accessories for him to be able to come home, taking turns going to the hospital, and just a lot of little things like going to the grocery store and the post office for him. It’s going to be a long recovery, but I think we’re off to a good start. We’re just thankful it wasn’t anything more serious.
I hope you all had a lovely Thanksgiving here in the states, and to everyone else abroad, I hope you had a lovely week!
